The Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia has launched a new mobile speed enforcement site on Worcester Road, Hagley in direct response to concerns raised by local residents about the speed of vehicles travelling along the 30mph road.
Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are urging motorists to avoid deadly distractions at the wheel, through a national targeted mobile phone enforcement and education campaign which is running this week (10th – 16th July) to crack down on people who continue to flout the law. The campaign is taking place across the UK and serves to remind motorists that the penalties increased earlier this year for those caught using a hand-held mobile phone while driving. Both the fine and penalty doubled; from £100 to £200 and from 3 to 6 points. Read more

The new site launches next week (w/c 10th July 2017) and forms part of the Safer Roads Partnership’s Community Concern programme, which responds to community requests for speed enforcement. Local residents raised their concerns about the speed of traffic and asked for action to be taken. Read more
