The Safer Roads Partnership works with its partner agencies to deliver road safety education and training courses. The Partnership coordinates a pre and young driver education programme in Worcestershire and Herefordshire and offers a subsidised post-test training course for motorcycle and moped riders called Take Control.

Motorcyclists

If you’re a biker, you will have experienced the enjoyment and freedom that comes with riding a motorbike, especially on the many country roads that we have across Herefordshire, Shropshire Warwickshire and West Mercia.

However, the unfortunate reality is that bikers are heavily over-represented in road collisions. Although motorcyclists and moped users make up only 2% of all road traffic, they are involved in around 30% of all collisions where somebody is killed or seriously injured. Read more

The Safer Roads Partnership’s impaired driving campaign seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of driving after drinking alcohol or taking drugs. Drivers who are unfit to drive are more likely to cause a collision.

The ‘Share the Road’ campaign aims to raise awareness about the safety issues faced by cyclists and to help them stay safer on the roads. Drivers are encouraged to allow plenty of space for cyclists when overtaking and to always look out for them when undertaking manoeuvres and changing lanes.
