Motorists across Warwickshire and West Mercia are being reminded of the dangers of drink driving during the run up to Christmas and the New Year.
Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are supporting the month long winter drink and drug drive campaign (which started 1st December) with enforcement currently taking place across the region. To date, 244 people have been arrested across Warwickshire and West Mercia for being under the influence of alcohol or drugs since the start of the campaign. Read more

Local Community Speed Watch groups across West Mercia were out in force on Friday (30th September) to raise awareness of the scheme and carry out speed enforcement activity in a bid to make their areas safer. West Mercia’s Police & Crime Commissioner John Campion and Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner Tracey Onslow also showed their support for the scheme by visiting local groups in Crowle and Eckington in Worcestershire and Eardisley in Herefordshire. The Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia is launching two new mobile speed enforcement sites in Shropshire, in direct response to concerns raised about the speed of vehicles travelling in each area. New sites will be launched on Bourton Road in Much Wenlock and the A529 at Hinstock. Read more
The Safer Roads Partnership, Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are warning motorists of the dangers that may be present at this time of year as farmers are using the roads more when harvesting and moving their produce.
Agriculture is one of our region’s key industries and this time of year is very busy in the farming calendar with many crops requiring harvest and transportation, often within a short window of opportunity in order to ensure consumers can enjoy the produce in prime condition.
