The Safer Roads Partnership, Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are warning motorists of the dangers that may be present at this time of year as farmers are using the roads more when harvesting and moving their produce.

Agriculture is one of our region’s key industries and this time of year is very busy in the farming calendar with many crops requiring harvest and transportation, often within a short window of opportunity in order to ensure consumers can enjoy the produce in prime condition. However, this burst of activity traditionally sees a rise in road collisions, many of which are preventable. Read more

With the prominent TV coverage and medal success from Team GB, more people are turning to cycling as a viable form of transport and leisure pursuit.  Whether you fancy yourself as the next Jason Kenny or Laura Trott or just looking at new ways of keeping fit, cycling is an enjoyable past time and an effective means of transport and there are ways to ensure this activity is done as safely as possible. Drink and drug driving offences typically increase during the summer with more opportunity for people to think they can risk mixing drinking with driving.  The campaign aims to raise awareness of the consequences of driving after drinking and links in with the European football which runs over the same time.
